Dr. Judith Lombeida's Legacy
The Judith Lombeida Medical Foundation was founded in memory and in honor of Colonel Judith Lombeida, MD for the purpose of continuing her legacy of serving the critical medical needs of poor indigenous people in Central and South America.
The foundation, a non-profit corporation, was founded shortly after her tragic death in July 2006.
Curing her lifetime and 19-year career in the United States Air Force, Colonel Lombeida participated and led many medical missions, serving thousands of needy patients. For her passion and dedication, Dr. Lombeida was awarded one of Ecuador's highest military medals, "The Star of the Armed Forces," making her the only woman to receive this prestigious honor.
